A Missouri man wrongly convicted of an Oklahoma rape and murder is urging Congress to pass new laws giving convicted people rights to have DNA tests run that might prove their innocence. Lee’s Summit native Dennis Fritz was in an Oklahoma prison for 12 years before the state finally agreed to his requests for DNA tests. He has urged Congress to pass laws letting people convicted of crimes get DNA tests run and laws setting minimum standards for court-appointed lawyers.
