A wild win at Fenway for the Royals. Kansas City trailed 8-2, rallied with nine runs in the sixth, watched Boston tie the game again, and then beat the Red Sox 13-11. Dave McCarty was the hero, after nearly becoming the goat. McCarty dropped a foul pop-up, that Nomar Garciaparra followed with two-run double to tie the game at 11. McCarty made up for it in the 8th, with a two run triple to center field to win the game for the Royals. McCarty finished 4 for 5 with 3 runs batted in and a run scored. Carlos Beltran had three hits and scored four times. Jose Santiago got the win in relief, and Dan Reichert earned his first save as the Royals took two of three from Boston. Kansas City visits Pittsburgh tonight in interleague play. Miguel Batista will start for the Royals against Todd Ritchie.
