500 jobs are leaving Independence, with the closing of the Agco Corporation plant. Agco makes combines and tractors under the names of “White” and “AGCO Allis.” Production is being shifted to another Agco plant in Hesston, Kansas, or to other manufacturers. Some employees might have a chance to move to Kansas. The plant closing is scheduled for the end of June.
