Missouri’s first ethanol plant will officially open today. A grand opening attracting all the major politicians in the state will be held near Macon as the Northeast Missouri Grain Processors officially begin production. Northeast Missouri Grain president John Eggleston says this plant will have the latest technology. Ethanol is seen as a way to help Missouri corn farmers find a new way of making money. The ethanol will be blended with gasoline and sold as a cleaner, better-burning fuel. Another plant has broken ground in northwest Missouri.
