Back from the brink, the Blues have taken control of their first round series with San Jose. Scott Young recorded his first career playoff hat trick, as the Blues scored the first six goals of the game and rolled to a 6-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks to even their Western Conference quarterfinal series at three games apiece. The Blues led 1-0 after one period, then erupted for five second period goals, to take a 6-0 lead and put the game away. Chris Pronger and Tyson Nash also scored, and Jochen Hecht had a goal and three assists. The Blues have won the last two games of the best-of-seven series and will try to complete the comeback from a 3-1 deficit in Game 7 on Tuesday in St. Louis. The Blues are trying to become the first NHL team to successfully rally from 3-1 playoff deficits in consecutive seasons, having rebounded from a 3-1 first-round deficit to beat Phoenix last spring.
