The University of Missouri wants people to know what former basketball coach Norm Stewart has been doing since he resigned a year ago. The question of whether the University is getting anything from its million-dollar contract settlement with Stewart has been raised in a state audit. Chancellor Richard Wallace says Stewart is working on a fund-raising program that involves extensive planning and multiple contacts. Wallace says Stewart’s specific programs are a comprehensive cancer center as well as other fund-raising projects. And Wallace says Stewart’s departure as head basketball coach was entirely his idea. He denies that Stewart was asked to step down.
