A former bookkeeper convicted of stealing 1.4-million dollars from a Jewish temple in St. Louis has done this kind of thing before. David Thoma has been sentenced to ten years in prison. Court records show Thoma had pleaded guilty in Pennsylvania in 19-94 to using a cmputer to steal 21-thousand dollars from his employer. He went to work for Temple Israel in St. Louis in the Spring of ’95, after which he went back to Pennsylvania to plead guilty to another charge of using a computer to steal from an employer. Police say he used the same kind of scheme to get money from the Temple in St. Louis.
