The Royals have cut several pitchers. Ken Ryan and Billy Brewer, who did not put up good numbers this spring, were released. Brett Laxton and Jamie Walker have been sent to Triple-A Omaha. And Doug Bochtler has been sent to the minor league camp. The Royals won their game, pounding Houston 18-9. First baseman Mike Sweeney had two hits, a home run, and 5 RBI.
