The top golfers in the world will compete in St. Louis in September, 2001. Bellerive Country Club will host a World Golf Championships event. The field is made up of the top 50 players in the world rankings, and the leaders of the money lists of tours around the world, and the event boasts no cut and a 5-million dollar purse. Tiger Woods won the event last year at Valderrama Golf Club in Spain. Valderrama will host the tournament again this year, before it moves to Bellerive in 2001. Bellerive was the site of the PGA Championship in 1992, and will host the U.S. Senior Open in 2004.
